"We hope that measures taken to stimulate the local market, as well as the reserves and potential that our country has in development of infrastructure, agricultural production, construction and transport will also help level up the crisis fallout in our economy and enable us to achieve an economic growth of around 6 percent this year," Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Serik Akhmetov said during the joint meeting of the Parliament chambers.

The crisis and the recession are still in the act and not everything is going well at the global markets, he noted.

"We have a slowdown in major sectors of our economy, mainly in mining and metallurgy. There is some recovery in several areas, but the situation in the sector in general remains complicated," Akhmetov said.

He reminded that Kazakhstan's GPD growth made around 5 percent in the first 5 months of the year.
