Nazarbayev suggests to develop businesses along Western Europe-Western China road
Nursultan Nazarbayev has called businessmen to set up companies along the Western Europe-Western China road during his visit to Kyzylorda oblast in southern Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports citing the President's press-service.
"The international transport corridor Western Europe-Western China goes through the oblast. There are opportunities for many businesses along this road," the press-service cited the Kazakhstan President as saying.
Back in 2011 then Prime-Minister Karim Massimov also called to develop small business along the Western Europe-Western China road. He told the Akim (Governor) of Zhambyl oblast, also in southern Kazakhstan: "There will be a good transport flow from Khorgos (at the border with China) to Europe. This will affect not only you, but all the oblasts where the road will go, but your oblast especially. You have many entrepreneurs in the oblast. There could be fuel stations, shops or motels along the road."
"Today we are focusing on 'flexible' companies with 10-20 employees," Nazarbayev recommended.
He stressed that lowering the goods' prime cost was high on Kazakhstan's agenda these days. "The goods' prime cost is too high. How are you planning to sell your goods once the state stops subsiding you one day?" the President said.
He also noted that agricultural producers of the region "should not loaf away their time, but work had to adopt advanced practices and new technologies" during their trips abroad.
