ADB invested over USD 2.5 billion in Kazakhstan economy

ADB invested 2.5 billion dollars in economy of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov said at the XII Ministerial conferences on Central Asian regional economic cooperation, BNews.kz correspondent reports.

"The important role in modernization of Kazakhstan economy is played by the Asian Development Bank. During its presence in Kazakhstan ADB invested in our economy more than 2.5 billion dollars. Within our partnership it is possible to allocate such large-scale projects, as "West Europe- West China". This international transit corridor will be the main route of a cargo transportation in the Central Asian region," Serik Akhmetov said.

"It is remarkable that in 2010 of ADB offered us a large loan in the history of bank on development of small and medium business. It should be noted that in 2013 within cooperation with ADB, Kazakhstan carried out a donor contribution to Asian fund of development in the sum of more than 5 million dollars," the Prime Minister said.

"Kazakhstan plans to depart from the status of the recipient of technical free aid and to become the partner of ADB in rendering assistance to the developing countries," Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov added.
